Free space for your workshops!

Theatre Momentum is seeking improv and theatre directors/coaches to teach workshops at the TM Studio. We'll be blocking out 10-12 hours/week for these workshops.

And you get to design it!

We're looking for coaches with workshops they'd like to teach to improvisors or actors. TM will provide the space for free, promote it to our mailing list, post it in our programs, and generally help you get butts into the workshop.

Okay... what's the catch?
One free pass to your class. That's all. We will end up giving that away to potential students who attend our Kinetic Jam, which will expose your class to some folks who might otherwise not have been able to experience it. Times are tough, and we're all broke actors!

The cost of renting a space can get pretty obnoxious, so if we can make it a little easier, we want to. We keep our rental rates low, and we've started this program to give back a little to the community.

Okay, not buying it. What's in it for you?
You're right. We do get something out of it. When you have a class in our space, we get more people exposed to the TM Studio, which has been around just a year. The more exposure we get, the more renters we get, the better for us. But hey, you're getting something out of it, too. Win-win. Ta-da.

Big deal. What else?
Well, being a part of this program gives TM a chance to learn about you as a director/coach, and when more opportunities open up in the future, we'll have you on our speed-dial. We have big plans, and the more directors/coaches we get to know, the better. We already have our Kinetic Jam, for which we're looking for coaches, and that's just a small start.

Anything else I need to know?
Well, given that we want to give a chance to as many director/coaches as possible, we're limiting the class lengths to 3 weeks maximum. The individual class can go however long you like (2-3 hours is pretty standard), but we want to get to know you before we start doling out blocks of 6 months of class space.

When will these begin?
We'd like some lead time to post and promote the classes, so we're scheduling workshops about a month out. So please get in your submissions as soon as you can! If you can't commit to a workshop right now, that's fine- we'll be running this all year long, and you can submit for workshops later in the year, as well. If you wish to submit early for a workshop later in the year, that's completely fine, too.

How do I get involved?
Send us a brief bio and a summary of your class, as you'd like it to appear in promotional materials and this website. Let us know the duration of the class- is it a one-time class, or more than one week of sessions? When would you like it to be scheduled, ideally? TM will review your submission and let you know if we have a spot for your class, and take it from there.
